Since publishing legal documents yesterday theirishobserver.blogspot.com has been contacted by a number of victims groups wanting to know if the former Minister for Justice Mr John O Donoghue TD interfered in cases that they know were sent to the DPP but not prosecuted.
This morning theirishobserver.blogspot.com has written to An Taoiseach, Mr Brian Cowen asking him to establish a full public inquiry into O Donoghue's tenure at the Department of Justice, Mr Cowen has also been supplied with hard copy of the legal documents with which theirishobserver.blogspot.com has been provided.
Whether a public inquiry is established or not it is clear from the legal documents provided to theirishobserver.blogspot.com that many criminal convictions may now be re-opened including some of the most high profile in the past decade.
