ASTI


Jack Keane is the new President of the Association of Secondary Teachers of Ireland and we at the National Union of Bloggers would like to extend our best wishes to Jack.

Mr Keane teaches Geography and English at Rice College in Ennis, Co Clare, and is a very popular teacher in all regards.


He says his key priorities are protecting teachers' conditions of employment and protecting education from further cutbacks, all of which are supported by the NUB.


He takes over today from former President, Joe Moran, and we wish Joe well in the future.


The ASTI represents 18,000 second level teachers and they are facing an unprecidented attack from the present Fianna Fail lead Coalition.
