Leinster House to Open its Doors for a Night of Culture in the Capital

The gates of Leinster House will be opened to welcome 1,500 members of the public for an evening of culture and entertainment in the historic surroundings of the Irish Parliament, tomorrow, 24th September.



Visitors on the night will enjoy guided tours of Leinster House, which will feature access to the debating chambers of both D il and Seanad ireann, walk through the historic corridors of the Houses of the Oireachtas, view the home of the Oireachtas Committee system in Leinster House 2000 and will view the exhibition celebrating 90 years of D il ireann. Musical entertainment will also be provided on the night by the renowned "Ireland Unlimited."



The event is part of this year’s Culture Night festival. Culture Night is a hugely important event on the cultural calendar providing people with the opportunity to discover and enjoy the rich cultural offering of the country’s venues at night.



This is the third year in which the Houses of the Oireachtas have participated in Culture Night. Last year’s event proved extremely popular with over 1,500 people passing through the doors of the parliament building.



In Dublin over 120 cultural venues have been confirmed for Culture Night including Christ Church Cathedral, the National Museum of Ireland, the Science Gallery Trinity College, The Guinness Storehouse, the Light House Cinema, The Ark Cultural Centre for Children, the Chester Beatty Library Dublin Castle and much more.
