Sinn Fein Have They Anything to Offer

Anyone reading my comments on Sinn Fein over the years will know that I am not their biggest fan. That said, it is important that no combination should be ruled out when we look to the General Election in 2011, I know it is supposed to be in 2012, however, Cowen (biffosdiary.blogspot.com) is not going to last that long and neither is Fianna Fail.

Sinn Féin's annual pre-Dáil think-in is taking place this morning at the Gresham Hotel in Dublin, the Gresham, well now lads, maybe picking up a few bad habits there, still I suppose you have to show that you are serious about the business at hand and so a think-in at 44 Parnell Square is out of the question.

The team will discuss the party's approach to the upcoming Budget, tackling the jobs crisis and dealing with the banks. Certainly Sinn Fein have some expertise on board in relation to banking and finance, they also have a fairly well based socio-economic understanding in relation to what is facing ordinary families, most of the Sinn Fein leadership have lived in arreas that have been badly affected by the crimes of Fianna Fail and their friends in the Golden Circle.

The party will also discuss the upcoming by-elections and strategy for a General Election. It remains to be seen if Sinn Fein can drag themselves away from what is often seen as petty vendictivness and interpersonal disputes, at least An Phoblacht which is out-dated is now only sold once per month, An Phoblacht has often been viewed as petty republican mouth-piece used to attack individuals who are opposed to Sinn Fein, however, that 1980s attitude has no place in 2010 as most people view such petty attacks as a hang-over from the insular, protectivness Sinn Fein of the past.

Still lets wait and see what they have to say after the Think-in.
