Six men in their 30s have been arrested in connection with an ongoing investigation into dissident republican activity.
Three of the men were arrested shortly after 11pm last night after gardaí stopped a stolen articulated lorry carrying a quantity of alcohol on the M1 at Drogheda. Gardaí also seized a second trailer unit.
The men were taken to Balbriggan and Drogheda Garda stations.
As part of a follow-up operation, three other men were arrested in Delvin, Co Westmeath and were taken to Kells and Navan Garda stations.
Gardaí from the Special Detective Unit and from the Louth-Meath area carried out the operation.
