Monaghan Death

Gardaí in Monaghan are seeking witnesses to a fatal road incident in which a 20 year-old local man died early yesterday morning.




The man's body was found on a minor road at Lemgare, near Clontibret, Co Monaghan, at 7.30am yesterday, apparently the victim of a hit-and-run.



He was identified last night as Fintan Treanor.



Gardaí have said they are "particularly anxious" to speak to anyone who may have travelled on the road between Drumbeo and Lemgare, Clontibret between 2am and 7.30am yesterday morning to contact them.
