Dissident Arrests Cork

Five men have been arrested in Co Cork by Irish police investigating dissident republican activity.




It follows a search and arrest operation carried out across Cork city on Tuesday morning.



At around 7am, officers from the Gardai Special Detective Unit and Regional Support Unit detained five men - three aged in their 40s, one in his 20s and one in his 50s.



They are currently being held at Mayfield, Gurrannabraher and Togher stations under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939.

A Gardai statement said inquiries are ongoing.
