Omagh Bomb Appeal Decision

Four men found liable for the Omagh bombing in a civil case will today hear the decision on their appeal against the ruling. Seamus Mc Kenna was found not liable.

Michael McKevitt, Liam Campbell, Séamus Daly and Colm Murphy were found liable for the 1998 Real IRA atrocity in a civil case taken by 12 relatives of the dead that concluded in June 2009.

Relatives of the 29 dead, who included a woman pregnant with twins, took their landmark civil case following the failure to secure any criminal prosecutions related to bombing.

In his ruling in that case, Mr Justice Morgan ordered more than £1.6 million (€1.78 million) in total should be paid out to 12 relatives who sought compensation for the August 1998 attack.
