Rapist at Neil Diamond Concert

Paul Moore convicted Rapist Attends Neil Diamond Concert

Ireland's most dangerous rapist, Paul Moore, stalked unsuspecting female concert-goers before last weekend's Neil Diamond show at the Aviva stadium.

The volatile sex offender used "terrifying violence" in a previous attack, and experts have warned he WILL strike again. But this week he was free to prey on Irish women after a round the clock watch was lifted.

He prowled among and pawed at innocent females and forced his way into their company while downing seven pints.

THESE are the chilling moments when one of the country's most dangerous rapists roamed freely among thousands of vulnerable women at a pop concert.

Snarling pervert Paul Moore is a volatile sex beast who experts have warned WILL strike again.

But last weekend our undercover team observed the frightening reality of Garda cutbacks as the leering 45-year-old predator forced himself into the company of groups of female concert-goers before the Neil Diamond gig in Dublin's Aviva stadium.

Moore, who has four previous convictions for sex attacks - including one in which a judge said he used "terrifying violence" - was placed under permanent 24-hour surveillance when he was released this year because he poses such a threat to women.

Authorities were so concerned that they investigated whether the Attorney General could place him in "preventative detention" but this would have breached his rights.

Gardai can no longer afford to watch the sex beast on a full-time basis because of the cutbacks that have seen overtime slashed and an embargo on new recruits coming out of the Garda training college in Templemore.

Last weekend while Gardai and foreign media followed Beast of Baltinglass Larry Murphy OUT of Ireland, we observed Moore roaming Irish streets, inappropriately touching scores of women who have no idea what a danger he poses to them.

Alarmingly, he was also boozed up - despite experts warning that alcohol triggers his attacks on women. Officials looked at ways of trying to force Moore to stay off the drink as a condition of his release but were unable to make him go on the dry.

Our team observed Moore downing at least seven pints of Guinness in just 90 minutes at the D4 Berkeley Hotel, close to the Aviva Stadium where Neil Diamond performed last Saturday.

We watched in horror as he groped and leered at helpless women who did not know that evil was lurking in their midst. Moore gets his kicks from meticulously planning his sordid rapes and manipulating his intended targets.

At one stage, security at the hotel had to throw Moore out of the beer garden because he was harassing and pestering women who were obviously uncomfortable with his unwanted sexual advances.

The change in his demeanour was obvious after he started drinking - he began to become unsteady on his feet and seemed unable to stop himself grabbing and touching total strangers.

When we spoke to several women who had been approached by the vile rapist and told them of his sordid past, they were shocked and frightened.

One young woman burst into tears, saying she felt physically sick. They said that Moore was a charmer but they felt that he was "a bit sad" and thought that he was a lonely old man, not realising that he was a dangerous sexual deviant who stalks his prey.

Before committing one of his vile rapes, the sicko even made one of his victims sign a note saying that the rape was "consensual".

When he was released from serving a sex sentence, he attacked another woman just hours after being freed. The fiend has spent most of the last 15 years caged for his sick sex crime spree.

He was in a serious car crash when he was 17 and suffered brain injuries. It changed his personality and he was awarded the use of his Dublin city centre apartment in Mountjoy Square for the rest of his life, much to the anger of his frightened neighbours, who want him out.

Moore emerged from his apartment at around 4pm last Saturday and walked to Parnell Square, where he waited for a bus. We observed him leer at strangers who were out shopping, unaware of the danger that he posed.

He then boarded a bus and had a row with the driver because his disabled bus pass was out of date. Moore used his charm to convince the driver to let him travel as far as O'Connell Bridge.

While he was on the bus journey, he struck up conversations with five different women, placing his hand on their backs as he spoke to them.

After the short journey, he walked in the direction of Tara Street Dart station. Just yards away, a pretty young woman of about 21 walked past him. Moore turned around, ran towards her, grabbing her arm and whispering a few words in her ear.

She was obviously uncomfortable and smiled nervously but ran off as soon as she could. The dangerous sex attacker next went into the station and waited for a train to Lansdowne Road.

He boarded, sat beside a woman in her 30s and chatted to her. The woman obviously sensed that all was not well and got up to move seat.

When he got out of Lansdowne Road station, he stopped several woman and asked for directions before skulking towards the D4 Berkeley Hotel, formally the Berkeley Court.

He went to the back bar near the beer garden and ordered a pint of Guinness. When he was served he didn't move to a common area but stayed and started touching women who were trying to order a pre-concert drink.

Moore spent his time moving between the bar and beer garden, going between several groups of women and imposing himself on their company. Most were not interested in the ageing scumbag but a couple of women unwittingly shared laughs and jokes with him.

Performance

At one stage, as Moore ordered his fourth pint and started to slur his words, he stood just yards away from former Tanaiste Mary Harney.

At around 7pm, after knocking back at least seven pints, Moore left the hotel and made his way into the Aviva Stadium. He is a fan of Neil Diamond and also wanted to take in Mary Byrne's performance.

BEFORE his release from prison in February, a top psychiatrist warned that Moore cannot be cured of his compulsion to attack women.

Professor Harry Kennedy, the director of the Central Mental Hospital examined Moore and concluded that there was "compelling" case to keep him locked up for life and that his future crimes will get even worse.

But because the pervert doesn't suffer from a mental illness he could not be held at the facility in Dundrum, Dublin, and is now a free man.

The Probation Service says "it is not a question of if but when" he strikes again.

The authorities are so concerned about Moore's activities they have set up a high-level 12-person working group led by Department of Justice officials to discuss his every move.

Moore was released from Arbour Hill sex offenders' prison in Dublin after serving a five-month sentence for attacking a prostitute.

That assault happened just hours after he was released from another spell in prison.

Before his last attack, he had completed a 10-year sentence for raping a woman in his apartment in 2001. He was sentenced to six years in 2003 for the rape but this was increased to 10 years by the Court of Criminal Appeal.

Before he assaulted the woman, a lesbian who he had met earlier in a bar on O'Connell Street, he forced her to sign a note saying: "I have consented to everything that happened between me and Paul Moore tonight." Moore pleaded guilty.

Less than a year before the attack, he was released from prison after serving a seven-year sentence for rape.

While he was in custody, the authorities tried to get him to work with them to cure his sick tendencies but all his treatment failed.

Moore acknowledged his sick tendencies but refused any medication which may have treated him. He also refused to take medication to stop him drinking.
