Child Abuse Arrest

Austin, TX – Abraham Moya Ortiz, 31, whose last known address was in the Del Valle area, was arrested this morning by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force near the intersection of Tinnin Ford Rd., and Riverside without incident. Ortiz was sought by Bastrop County authorities last month for his alleged involvement with the continuous sexual abuse of a child, a first degree felony in Texas. Ortiz fled the area several weeks ago after he may have been aware of the pending charges that were likely to be filed against him.

Task Forces officers picked up his trail recently and were alerted to Ortiz’s presence in Austin yesterday afternoon after interviews in the nearby area confirmed Ortiz was loitering in the vicinity seeking day labor. Early this morning, task force officers established surveillance in the vicinity of several areas where individuals seek day labour.

Ortiz was transported to the Bastrop County Detention Centre with bond set at $500,000.

Robert R. Almonte, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas states, “The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force is committed to locating fugitives who prey upon our children and we will not stop at anything in our effort to make our communities safer.”
