A 16 year old child is one of four persons arrested in Derry, dissident groups who are desperate for members are using school children to carry out their criminality and a number of children have now appeared before the courts for dissident activity, one local person told The Irish Observer:
"These people are worse than paedophiles, they are forcing children into criminality and God knows what else they are doing to them, parents cant say a word or they will be driven out of the community, social services appear unable or unwilling to protect the children in this area".
Four people have been arrested in Derry in connection with dissident republican activity.
Three men — aged 54, 43 and 23 — and a 16-year-old boy were detained in the Brandywell area by detectives last night.
A suspected firearm was recovered during the operation.
The four were taken to Antrim police station for questioning.
