Peadar Toibin TD Sinn Fein Calls for Change


A Meath West TD is proposing a basic redundancy for politicians who lose their seats at election time.

Sinn Fein's Peadar Toibin says the state is facing a bill of 5.3 million Euro because of the turnover of TDs and Senators in the recent elections.

Deputy Toibin says its grossly insulting particularly when many of those in receipt of this money are guilty of causing the economic mess we're in.

He also says that all sitting TDs in receipt of a severance payment for being a former Minister or Minister of State should return those financial packages
