Henry Hensey McKenna, Death, Provisional IRA, Monaghan, Columba McVeigh

Vincent McKenna was sworn into The Provisional IRA in 1980 when he was 16-years-old by his cousin, Kevin McKenna (PIRA Chief of Staff, 1983-1997). Vincent McKenna would be Kevin McKenna's eyes and ears within Sinn Fein/Provisional IRA in Monaghan Town. Kevin McKenna lived in Smithborough, County Monaghan.

As members of Sinn Fein/Provisional IRA talked-out-of-shop to Vincent McKenna they would not have known how close Vincent McKenna was to Kevin McKenna.

Vincent McKenna left with John Hume MEP right 1994. Vincent McKenna was working with John Hume from 1992 and created early drafts of what would be come known as The Good Friday Agreement. Between 1996-98 Vincent McKenna worked on the final draft of The Good Friday Agreement.

Vincent McKenna stepped away from the Good Friday Agreement when Kevin McKenna and Martin McGuinness admitted to Vincent McKenna that they were arming The Real IRA to use as Proxies, this duplicity, had been used by Sinn Fein/Provisional IRA many times before.

Republican Action Force was the name used by The Provisional IRA when they murdered 10 innocent Protestants in Kingsmill in 1976, Direct Action Against Drugs was set-up by the Sinn Fein/PIRA Leadership in Belfast to take protection money from drug dealers.

Kevin McKenna had been known to Vincent McKenna from Vincent McKenna was a small child, when Kevin would cycle into Aughnacloy and Kevin would take Vincent on the crossbar of his bike to his grandparents house in Coronation Park.

In 1981, Vincent McKenna had graduated from Na Fianna Eireann to working on Internal Security with JB O'Hagan, the PIRA member in uniform front left was dismissed from The PIRA because of Vincent McKenna's evidence to The PIRA Command Staff.

Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin TD swore Vincent McKenna into Sinn Fein/PIRA at a meeting attended by JB O'Hagan, Kieran Starr's and Padraigin Ui Mhurchadha (sister of Fergal O'Hanlon, shot dead 1957).

Vincent McKenna (encircled below) behind to the left of John 'Dinger' Bell, Vincent McKenna and others were to open a corridor through the crowd to get the PIRA up an entry and into the back of a house previously rented by one of the gunmen.

The weapons and uniforms were to be moved in two Hi-ace Vans, one driven by Malachy Toal and the other by Patrick McKenna. Garda officers tried to block the exist of the two vans and the Garda car was over-turned into a ditch.

Garda Detective, Joe Derwin opened fire with an Uzi-sub-machine gun and later a revolver. With their backs to the camera are PIRA Laurence McKenna (sentenced to 5-years for this incident) and Laurence McNally (shot dead by SAS 1991). Laurence McNally, Laurence McKenna and Vincent McKenna confronted Joe Derwin, in order to prevent mourners being shot.

Henry Hensey McKenna, who died on the 18 January, 2023, was the last member of the Provisional IRA murder gang who kidnapped, tortured, murdered and secretly buried school boy Columba McVeigh. Henry Hensey McKenna, can be seen in the picture below, grey hair, behind the forward gunman at Jim Lynagh's funeral in 1987 as it passed through Emyvale.

Henry Hensey McKenna was originally from south Derry, but went On-the-Run after his role in the Claudy Bombing in 1972. Henry Hensey McKenna was one of a number of members of the Claudy bomb team that arrived in Monaghan Town On-the-Run, some are still alive and live in Monaghan Town. Below, the innocent men, women and children murdered in Claudy by Sinn Fein/Provisional IRA criminals.

Sinn Fein Drug Money

I have been asked to clarify the circumstances when Hensey McKenna disclosed to me about his participation in various operations. 1986, I had been arrested by the RUC under a 7-Day Detention Order. I was being falsely accused of being involved in the attempted murder of Robert John Murray in Aughnacloy. I had no hand or part in this cowardly action, if I had I would say so.

Following my release from Gough Barracks, the RUC placed me in Crumlin Road Jail for a fine outstanding from an arson attack on the home of an RUC Officer in 1981, two days before Bobby Sands went on Hunger-strike.

When I was released from Crumlin Road Jail, I arrived back in Monaghan Town. I went to The Round House Bar, which was now owned by Owen Smyth. When I walked in the door, Jim Lynagh and some of his Unit were drinking and socialising to the right hand side of the door, under the window. The lads gave a cheer and I proceeded to the end of the bar where Owen Smyth was standing.

I had received £3 Gratuity, for my few days in Crumlin Road Jail, I ordered a pint of Guinness from Owen and paid for it with my Gratuity. Owen asked me if I had talked to the RUC, I said no. Owen threw his head up and walked away as if he did not believe me. The reality was, I had said nothing to the RUC and yet when Smyth was arrested in 1981, he told the RUC everything he knew.

When I had finished my Guinness, which was all I could afford, I left The Round House Bar. As I walked out the door, I met Hensey McKenna who was well known to me. Hensey asked if I would like to go for a drink, to which I said ok.

Hensey and I went to Seamus McKenna’s pub at the top of Dublin Street, I had no money and so Hensey bought me a pint of Guinness and himself a bottle of beer. Hensey wanted to know how my interrogation had gone, I had no problem talking to Hensey as I knew he would be reporting back to Kevin McKenna.

I told Hensey that The RUC had shown me statements made by an Informer from Aughnacloy, an Informer associated with Owen Smyth, and how I had been implicated in the attempted murder of Robert John Murray. Hensey was enjoying the chat and ordered more drink, the more Hensey drank, the more he talked.

Hensey told me that he was on-the-run because he was involved in the Claudy Bombing. Hensey laughed and joked about how he and Kevin had murdered Cormac McCabe, how they had murdered Columba McVeigh and why. Drinking and talking was out of character for Hensey, however, he believed he was in safe company.

Martin McGuinness who Ordered the Claudy Bombings would on the 40^th Anniversary of the bombings say the bombings were wrong, however, he failed to admit that he had Ordered the bombings. Francie Brolly, the father of GAA pundit Joe Brolly was OC on the Claudy bombings with many Provisional IRA terrorists under his command including Catholic Priest Fr Chesney and Hensey McKenna.

Tribute below from Sinn Fein TD Matt Carty

"Slán go fóill Óglach Henry ‘Henzie’ McKenna. We were sad to say goodbye to a great Republican activist today. Henzie, originally from South Derry, had adopted Co Monaghan as his home. Republicans, including Gerry Adams, Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin and hundreds of his comrades from across Ireland were in attendance as were many of Henzie’s friends from the Smithborough area and beyond.

A republican tribute led by Cllr. Pat Treanor commenced immediately after Henzie’s burial. Brendan McKenna laid a wreath on behalf of Co Monaghan republicans. The graveside oration was delivered by Matt Carthy TD. It was a fitting and well-deserved tribute to a brave and courageous Irish patriot.

Monaghan Sinn Féin again send our sympathies and solidarity to Henzie’s wife Annie; his children Fergal, Ann, Christine and Bronagh; to their friends and to Henzie’s extended family and many friends. I measc laochra na hÉireann go raibh sé".

Brendan McKenna was Adjutant of The Provisional IRA in Monaghan. Brendan was the person who would decide in consultation with Kevin McKenna, Jim Lynagh, Charlie Caufield, Pete Ryan, Pat Treanor, Hensey McKenna, JB O’Hagan, Barry McHugh, Edward ‘Ned’ Hamill who would participate in murder gangs sent across the border into Northern Ireland. The Murders of Norman and James Strong 1981, Enniskillen 1987, two RUC Officers, Fivemiletown 1993 and so forth.

Brendan and I got on well together. I particularly remember Brendan calling to my house and asking for assistance in relation to the death of Peadar Hamill. However, Brendan and I, differed in relation to certain matters, namely, the continued role of RUC Informer, Owen Smyth within Sinn Fein/Provisional IRA in Monaghan.

I believed and I am now convinced that Owen Smyth colluded with the enemy on many occasions.

And in another matter, 1985, where I had administered a good beating to a Sinn Fein/PIRA child-molester. One of our supporters had reported this individual to me, an opportunity presented itself and I acted without authority. It was in fact Brendan and Hensey who spoke to me about this incident. The said child molester closely associated with Owen Smyth as were other Sinn Fein/PIRA child rapists such as Michael Lynagh and Patrick 'Paddy' Tierney.

NOTE: I initially published about Hensey McKenna in 2020, he made No challenge, legal or other to my assertions, this is true of all the murderers I have outed.

In January, 1974, Henry Hensey McKenna, did with Kevin McKenna (PIRA Chief of Staff, 1983-1997) kidnap Cormac McCabe from The Four Seasons Hotel in Monaghan Town, while Cormac was having a meal with his wife and disabled child. Cormac McCabe was tortured by both Hensey and Kevin, then murdered and his body dumped on the Tyrone border.

PIRA Chief of Staff, Kevin McKenna carrying the coffin of Martin McGuinness 2017, Gerry Kelly MLA had sought an Amnesty for Kevin to attend Martin's funeral and their British Handlers granted the Amnesty.

Henry Hensey McKenna and Kevin McKenna both claimed, that Cormac McCabe refused to provide them with any information about security personnel in his local Aughnacloy, County Tyrone.

It would be in November, 1975, that Henry Hensey McKenna would commit his most gruesome hands on killing and again he was joined on this act of sexual sadism by Kevin McKenna.

Omagh Bomb The Truth

According to both Kevin McKenna and Hensey McKenna both of whom I knew exceptionally well, pressure had been placed on Kevin McKenna by fellow Sinn Fein/Provisional IRA criminals to take action against a school boy called Columba McVeigh, whom they alleged was passing information to the RUC.

Sinn Fein Rapists

Kevin McKenna arranged for Columba McVeigh to travel to Monaghan for a chat. Columba McVeigh, a simple easy-going lad, who had no knowledge of PIRA activity arrived in Monaghan Town.

Loughgall The Truth

Columba McVeigh was taken in a car driven by James Fox to a house in north Monaghan. Columba was initially questioned in the house by Kevin and Hensey, then Kevin and Hensey decided to take the child to the shed out back as they did not want to leave any forensic evidence in the house.

Enniskillen Massacre

In the shed, both Kevin and Hensey began to question Columba more aggressively, as to why he had moved to Dublin and become associated with some Sinn Fein/PIRA personnel. Columba explained that he was interested in theatre and had socialised in pubs where he knew people from Tyrone as he felt home-sick in Dublin.

According to both Kevin McKenna and Hensey McKenna, they inflicted serious torture on Columba because they wanted to be certain that he was not an Informer.

Hensey's Funeral

Following two days interrogation and torture both Kevin and Hensey were satisfied that Columba McVeigh was not an informer, in fact they concluded that Columba McVeigh knew absolutely nothing about The Provisional IRA or that some of the people he had meet in Dublin were in fact Provisional IRA.

By the end of the second day, Columba McVeigh was in a serious condition, both Kevin McKenna and Hensey McKenna had inflicted grievous harm on his young body including his testicles, which both men claimed had swollen to the size of footballs.

Kevin McKenna was concerned that if they returned Columba to Tyrone, Fr Dennis Faul could use his injuries as evidence of what Sinn Fein/PIRA were doing to people in their own community. Both Kevin McKenna and Hensey McKenna made the decision to murder Columba and secretly bury his body, Columba’s body remains un-discovered in 2023.

The sadistic murder of Columba McVeigh by Hensey and Kevin McKenna, earned both men the title, The Moors Murderers, as the body of Columba McVeigh remains undiscovered on the Moors of north Monaghan and their crimes against a child are exactly the same as that of the Moors Murderers Ian Brady and Myra Hindley in the 1960s. Who kidnapped, sexually assaulted, raped, tortured, murdered and secretly buried several children.

Kevin McKenna and Henry Hensey McKenna both told me on separate occasions about how they had murdered Cormac McCabe and Columba McVeigh. They may have told me this to remind me of the consequences if I were to tell their secrets, I never feared them, I viewed them as Sexual Sadists who protected many other child rapists in Monaghan Town.

As Tributes from fellow Sinn Fein/PIRA criminals began to pour in for Henry Hensey McKenna, one tribute in particular stands out, that tribute from RUC Informer, Owen Smyth, who actually named both Kevin McKenna and Henry McKenna to the RUC in 1981, when Owen was arrested and charged with the murder of an 86-year-old pensioner. Tribute below, Smyth spells Hensey wrong!

“Deepest sympathy to Annie and the extended McKenna family on the death of Henzie ("The Veteran"). I had the privilege of knowing him for over 50 years and we covered a lot of ground together as comrades and as friends. He was a significant presence when things were tough and never wavered. NÍl sa bhás ach muchadh coinnle roimh breachadh an lae. Owen Smyth.

When we translate the Gaelic aspect of Owen's tribute, remembering that Owen turned Informer against Sinn Fein/PIRA comrades because he did not have the balls to face the consequences of his crimes, translates, "Death is nothing but the extinguishing of candles before dawn", if Walter-Mitty existed and had the tongue of a serpent, that would be Owen Smyth.

Two other tributes are from brothers Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin TD and Fiontán Ó Caoláin, and unlike Owen Smyth they actually spell Hensey correctly, perhaps not under so much pressure to chase coffins to assert their credentials.

Fiontán Ó Caoláin states that Hensey was “A mighty man”, which of course he was not, however, Fiontán Ó Caoláin did not join us until the mid-1980s and may not be fully aware of the facts.

Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin TD in his tribute to Hensey states, “a true Irish Republican”, I am not sure that someone on a Freestate pension would be qualified to determine the merits of republicanism, that said, Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin was a good political mentor to me and a progressive force within the murder machine.

I think I also noted a tribute from Frank McCabe, who was the Commanding Officer of The Provisional IRA in south Armagh when they kidnapped, tortured and murder Paul Quinn in 2007, so no surprise in that tribute. Frank McCabe in the picture below with Conor Murphy convicted PIRA Bomber and now Brit Minister for Finance in partitionist Stormont.

Gerry Adams and other Sinn Fein/PIRA criminals will attend the funeral of Henry McKenna, none will tell the truth about Henry’s heinous crimes against man, woman and child, then again how could they, Sexual Sadism is not a crime within Sinn Fein/Provisional IRA.
